How much have you paid in Swiggy and Zomato fees?

Updated

Each Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit and Instamart receipt adds fees on top of the price of your food or groceries, and each app shows those fees one order at a time. DineProfile reads every receipt back to your oldest order and adds up each kind of fee, so you can see how much you’ve paid in platform fees alone, how much in delivery fees, and how the fees on an average order have changed from year to year.

The fees on a delivery app receipt

The names vary a little from app to app. DineProfile groups the fees on your receipts into these kinds:

Taxes are a separate line on your report. Some receipts put taxes and the restaurant’s packaging charge on one line, and your report keeps that combined line as one amount.

What your report shows about fees

How platform fees have grown

Swiggy started charging a ₹2 platform fee on food orders in a few cities in April 2023, and Zomato started with ₹2 in August 2023. Both apps raised their platform fees many times over the next three years. By October 2024 Zomato’s platform fee was ₹10, and in September 2025 Swiggy raised its platform fee three times in three weeks, to ₹15 an order. In March 2026 Swiggy’s platform fee became ₹17.58 an order including GST, and Zomato’s platform fee became ₹14.90 before GST, which comes to the same ₹17.58 with GST. The platform fee can differ by city and by day.

How to check fees in the apps yourself

Open any past order in Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit or Instamart and open the order’s bill. The bill lists that order’s fees and taxes. To find a total, you would need to open every order and add up each fee by hand. Someone who orders twice a week has more than 100 bills a year to add up.
